Nancy Dool-Kontio

Hello, my name is Nancy Dool-Kontio.  I am currently pursuing my Masters of Health Studies through Athabasca University.  I created this portfolio as part of that journey.

I started my health care career as a clinical occupational therapist.  Through my early employment opportunities, I was able to explore the community and acute care systems including both publicly and privately funded health care.   These early roles provided me with the opportunity to understand public policy and various health system structures.

 

Overtime my career progressed to leadership roles with a focus on strategic planning, operational planning, system partnerships, patient experience, quality improvement, project management and ehealth strategies. 

 

 I am currently the Director of Regional Integration in an academic health sciences centre.  I focus on system planning, system response, relationship management, health system awareness and transformation.

My health career so far has included an ongoing exploration of health strategy.  Is there one?  Only one? No, there are many.  The journey will continue.
